What an incredible place. I usually eat at the one in Costa Mesa. I thought the food was exquisite there but its very very small. But this one in Santa Ana has the same great food but a real dining experience and full bar. Best fish tacos in OC!

Living in Southern California means you’re never far from Mexican food—but finding top-tier flavor at a great price can still be a challenge. That’s where El Toro Bravo stands out. With locations in Costa Mesa and Tustin, this local gem delivers an exceptional catering experience that consistently impresses. We’ve used their catering services multiple times for my wife’s company events, and the response is always the same: people love it—and there are never any leftovers. Their catering packages are generously portioned and packed with flavor. We typically order the traditional carne asada and chicken taco meat, paired with classic rice and beans. Each order includes all the fixings, two kinds of salsa with the perfect heat-to-flavor ratio, and their addictively good chips. The quality and taste are top-notch every time. Beyond the food, the service is just as impressive. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. If you plan to use their catering, it’s best to call a day in advance—they’re in high demand for a reason. Whether it’s for a party, office event, or family gathering, El Toro Bravo delivers an authentic and satisfying Mexican food experience you won’t forget.

I'm giving this restaurant one star. Despite the food being excellent, I arrived at 7:45 p.m. with their posted closing time at 9 p.m., only to find they had already closed. This was frustrating, especially after a 30-minute drive. They need to update their hours to reflect their actual operating times. Very disappointing experience.

Authentic Mexican food. The nachos are huge and the meat is amazing. My friend out of state requests me to bring him bags of their chips when I visit. 5 stars!

They're food is absolutely amazing! The nachos combo is a must at only $5. Large portions for decent to cheap prices. Best for takeout as there is limited seating and the parking lot is rather small so try to come at non peak times if you can. The ingredients taste fresh and are well prepared.

This hole-in-the-wall that’s highly recommended is well-deserved. The staff are very kind and personable, the food is abundant and delicious, also I really liked the music which is what I grew up hearing my parents enjoy My sister ordered the breakfast eggs plate with beans and rice she thoroughly enjoyed her breakfast with warm tortillas and I ordered the chicharrón in red salsa tacos they added cilantro and onion I asked for green chile because the extra spiciness is a plus for me! Very tasty! I only ate one of the three tacos because it was big and filling - the other two will be perfect as the chicharrón continues to marinate in the red and green salsa. I forgot to add that we bought a lb of chicharrón and it was still warm when they bagged it up… it’s great for snacks and cooking at home : Ice-T happy eating dance: What a fantastic find El Toro Bravo is once again, the food was delicious and the service was great - I felt at home
